Low & Slow in the Big Green Egg

There are all sorts of different types of cooking that you can do on the Big Green Egg and one of our favorites is “low and slow” cooking and smoking.  The Egg and other kamado style cookers are perfect for this because of the way that they are constructed.  Their shape and the materials used to build them (ceramic) work very well at capturing and maintaining the heat.  This allows slower charcoal burning, therefore longer cooking times.  In today’s video, FOGO’s resident Eggspert Ron takes us through the entire setup, from cleaning the Egg out first, to which types of wood to use for smoking.  If you've never done a low and slow cook with your Egg before, this is the video for you.  If you would like to know more about the Big Green Egg, go to the Big Green Egg playlist on our YouTube channel.  We have made these videos to help everyone from the first time Egger to the Eggsperienced Egghead.  If there is something that you’d like to see us cover in a video, feel free to leave a comment and let us know.  Until next time, get out and grill and Egg on!
